Set in the market town of Alresford, in Hampshire, taking in the famous watercress beds and surrounding countryside. The start and finish will be in Arlebury Park where toilets and limited changing facilities will be available.
There will be a children’s fun run for those aged up to 11 years old before the start of the 10K road race. Money raised from the Fun Runs goes to Sun Hill Junior School.
We are aiming to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible. For this reason we are not offering T-shirts or metal medals (manufactured in the far east and shipped to the UK) as part of the entry fee. But, we are giving UK-sourced wooden medals to all finishers and The Watercress Company are kindly donating 500 bags of watercress.
We are also offering all entrants a delicious locally baked cookie or two!! You can choose to eat it or keep it, depending on how you want to remember your run. Our entry fees are lower than many other races because of this.
In order to reduce the overall amount of waste generated by the event we are asking runners to bring their own, reusable drinks bottles and fill them from the water available at Arlebury Park or on the route. Please take any litter you generate home with you.
There will be prizes for the overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd Man and Woman plus age group prizes in 5 year bands – 1st place in each age category.
Running clubs are encouraged to bring banners and set up club hubs on the field at the park.
